About

We are non-denominational ordained ministers of the gospel

We relate in fellowship and loose affiliation with other ministries around the world to provide stability and give biblical evidence of our standing.

We concentrate on teaching and present biblical truths in simple, yet profound ways, drawing much from original language scriptures, avoiding as much as possible any denominational influences or bias.

Robert has been walking with the Lord since 1968 and has a proven track record in various ministry capacities around the world ever since.

For several years, the Lord had been speaking to us about massive changes coming to the world and especially to the church.

In 2015, He instructed us to close our church and relocate. After making sure all those with whom we had relationship were in good hands, we resigned from our denominational alliance and moved in preparation for what was to come. Since then COVID-19 came.

Church as we once knew it has changed. Church life might never return to what it once was. Perhaps we need to re-evaluate our whole approach to how we do church and ask such questions as “have we strayed from the original pattern? We now think this is the case.

John the baptist came to God’s people—not necessarily to anyone else. He prepared the way for Jesus’s first coming.
The Lord stated that He would return and so He shall. If the biblical precedents exist, the implications are that similar ministries today are required to user in His arrival.

Our ministry is attempting to emulate John’s ministry. For this reason, Bashan Ministries is advocating that we are not to return to the old ways, but to embrace the new and assist God’s people in the transition process to be ready for the second coming of Jesus.

We shall regularly update the information we provide from time to time and wish God’s richest blessing on you.

Robert and Marjorie Carter

Robert

I was born in Adelaide South Australia and initially raised in a Church of England environment.
During the convict era in Australia, three of the states were penal colonies, but South Australia that was formed in 1836 was one of several free states. During this era, a group of Jewish settlers migrated to the Clare area in South Australia and raised cattle. My family tree dates back to them, but I was never a practicing Jew.

Educated to degree level, my career started as a communications technician with the Post Master General's Department and was promoted to senior technical management positions, eventually becoming the National Administrator of one of the projects in Telstra (Australia's national communications carrier) that computerized the Australian telephone exchange network.

On September 1st 1967 at 7:30PM, when I was 26 years of age, I met Jesus in a face-to-face in a brilliant burst of light when singing the opening hymn at a church during a crusade. This was his first of many Divine encounters.
The week beforehand, God healed my son Gary from an ailment that was causing his left hip to decay. Doctors were unable to diagnose it or treat it and newfound friends requested permission to pray for him at the meetings and invited me to attend. I did so on the last night.

Over the years, I have been involved in numerous activities that included:

  • Planting churches
  • Pastoring
  • Speaking at healing crusades around the world
  • Becoming a Field representative for an international Christian businessmen's organization
  • Establishing home groups that eventually became churches
  • Establishing a Christian book ministry
  • Assisting other pastors in their own ministries
  • Participating in various conferences and conventions as committee member, organizer or guest speaker
  • Becoming involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal during the 1970's era and more...

I enjoy gardening and fishing and have been an active member of a volunteer sea rescue squadron

Marjorie

I was born in England and moved to Australia with my parents when I was seven years of age.
I lived in Sydney before moving to the Gold Coast in Queensland.

I met Robert as if by accident at a Christmas party held in a Christian woman's home.
We did not date, but established a friendship that consisted mainly by having a picnic in a park on Mount Tamborine wheren he lived at the time and by several telephone calls.

Robert invited me to a conference being held by a well known international speaker where we were seated in the ministers' section.
As the man was speaking, he suddenly stopped and asked everyone to stand so that he could pray for Australia.
When we stood, we were engulfed in the presence of God and stuggled to remain standing.
We do not know who long we stood together together but realaized that he had resumed speaking whilst we were the only people still standing.

One evening, Robert telephoned me to say that God had woken him and had been speaking about us.
He did not know that God had spoken to me in similar fashion.
He woke me one evening, with the instructions to marry Robert and help him in his ministry.

Neither of us had the immediate courage to speak about this until the Lord spoke powerfully to Robert one night about it.
He telephoned me and we discussed the matter. It was a strange experience really as we were merely friends.

Most of our acquaintance was on the telephone anyhow and neither of us were disposed to remarrying.
On the few occasions we "dated", Robert was a perfect gentleman. He opened doors for me, brought me flowers and we shook hands whenever we greeted each other.

He is an old fashioned romantically minded gentleman and still treats me like a lady.

Our marriage is truly God blessed and God ordained.

Beliefs

We believe in one eternal God who is creator of all things, existing in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit

We believe that His character and nature is totally pure and holy, loving and kind

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, came in the form of man; born of a virgin and lived amongst men revealing the will and nature of God by his acts and deeds. Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place and rose again after three days

We believe that Jesus ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and as true God and true man, he is our Great High Priest and the only means of access to God

We believe in the imminent physical return of Jesus

We believe in Heaven and Hell, eternal life, the resurrection of the dead and the eternal destiny of all mankind

We believe in personal salvation to those who believe in Jesus his ministry, his broken body and shed blood

We believe the Bible in its entirety as the inspired Word of God and its code of conduct as our way of life. It is informative, educational, real-to-life and above all… it is the ultimate authority, revealing his character, nature and will in every respect

We believe in divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus and that healing is an inherent part of the redemptive work of Jesus

We believe that both sickness and poverty are a result of the curse and as we have been redeemed from that curse, we are able to live in divine health and prosperity in accordance with God’s will for our lives

We believe in a sanctified life through the word of God, in personal holiness and purity of heart and mind

We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in his work in the church

We believe in water baptism by immersion as an external sign of spiritual wholeness

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, as distinct from spiritual regeneration through the new birth, with initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance and the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit.
